Adaptive Computing in NASA Multi-Spectral Image Processing

چکیده

This paper presents our work accelerating a NASA image processing application by utilizing adaptive computing techniques. In our hand mapping of a typical algorithm, we were able to obtain well over an order of magnitude speedup over conventional softwareonly techniques with commercial off-the-shelf hardware. This work complements [6, 7] by widening the comparison between hardware and software approaches and updating the effort to include more current technologies. Additionally, we discuss the applicability of NASA applications to adaptive computing and present this work in the context of Northwestern's MATCH Projecta MATLAB to adaptive computing systems compiler.
